Privacy Policy

PostPulse is a WordPress plugin. Most of what it does happens inside your own WordPress installation, on your own hosting, under your own control. This policy explains the parts that involve us, and the parts that do not.

The short version

  • Your posts and your Search Console statistics are stored in your own WordPress database. We do not copy them, and we cannot read them.
  • We store what is needed to run licensing: your email address, your license key, which sites it is active on, and a count of AI generations used.
  • We never sell your data, and we never use your content to train AI models.

Google Search Console access

PostPulse asks for read only access to your Google Search Console data, using the webmasters.readonly scope. This is the only Google permission requested.

It is used for one purpose: to retrieve the clicks, impressions, click through rate, average position and search queries for pages on the properties you choose to connect, so the plugin can score your posts and generate recommendations.

  • The statistics retrieved are written to your own WordPress database and stay there.
  • Your Google account credentials are never stored on our servers. Access tokens are held in your WordPress installation in encrypted form.
  • We cannot read, browse or export your Search Console data.
  • PostPulse never writes to, changes or submits anything in your Search Console account. The access is read only.
  • You can disconnect at any time from the plugin settings, or revoke access directly in your Google account permissions.

PostPulse's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Google user data is never sold, never used for advertising, and never used to train generalized artificial intelligence models.

Connecting Search Console

By default the connection is brokered by a service we operate, so you do not need to create your own Google Cloud project. During that exchange the connection service handles the authorization code and the resulting tokens in transit, then passes them to your WordPress site, which stores them. We do not retain a copy.

If you prefer, you can supply your own Google credentials in the plugin's advanced settings, in which case the exchange happens directly between your site and Google and our service is not involved at all.

What we store

If you buy a Pro license, we hold a licensing record containing:

  • the email address used at checkout
  • your license key and its status and expiry
  • an identifier and address for each site the license is activated on, so the three site limit can be enforced
  • a monthly count of AI generations used, and the number of words processed, so allowances can be applied

We do not store your posts, your traffic figures, or the text of anything generated.

AI features

AI features are available on Pro only, and only run when you click a button that starts one. At that point the relevant text, such as the post you asked for a brief on, is sent through our service to Anthropic, which generates the response and returns it.

  • Nothing is sent automatically or in the background. Every AI request is one you initiated.
  • We do not keep the content you submit or the response returned, beyond what is needed to return it to you.
  • Your content is not used to train AI models.
  • The free version makes no AI requests at all.

Payments

Payments are processed by Lemon Squeezy, which acts as the merchant of record. Card details are entered on their systems and are never seen by or transmitted through us. See the Lemon Squeezy privacy policy for how they handle payment information.

This website

This site has no analytics, no advertising, and no tracking cookies. It loads fonts from Google Fonts, which means your browser contacts Google's font servers when you view a page.

Email

Alert emails and the monthly recap are generated by the plugin and sent by your own WordPress installation to the address you choose. They do not pass through us. If you buy a license, we may email you about your purchase, renewals, or significant changes to the service.

Your choices

  • Disconnect Google access at any time in the plugin settings or in your Google account.
  • Delete the plugin to remove all of its data from your site. Uninstalling removes its tables, settings and stored credentials.
  • Ask us to delete your licensing record by emailing the address below. Note that this ends the license.

Changes

If this policy changes in a way that materially affects how your data is handled, the date at the top will change and, for license holders, we will send an email.
